Bigger is not always better in the diamond business. The weight of the diamond is measured in carats. One carat is broken down and divided into 100 points, therefore a diamond of 75 points weighs .75 carat. Carat-weight is rather easy to determine, but two diamonds of equal weight can have very unequal value, depending on the cut, color and clarity. One carat is equal to 1/5th of a gram. Fine quality can be found in diamonds of all shapes and sizes. A fine quality diamond is appreciated by any woman.
